IMA was commissioned to transport all break bulk and heavy cargo necessary for delivery to the Marafiq power plant project, Saudi Arabia. The cargo originated in Bahrain and was delivered to both the Jubail seaport and the Marafiq Power plant site (near Jubail). The cargo included diverter dampers and related HRSG stacks, both of which were over-dimensional and heavy. IMA transported the three sets of diverter dampers via sea, using 250FT barges and tug boats. Loading and offloading were facilitated using roll-on, roll-off methods, utilizing hydraulic axles. This equipment was chosen after an advisory assessment by IMA’s transport engineering and barge management teams. Cargo delivered by road was transported via the Bahrain-Saudi Arabia causeway and successfully delivered to the Marafiq site on schedule. The diverter dampers were delivered to Jubail by sea.
IMA successfully completed the delivery, by sea and air, of:
- Three diverter dampers (9 x 8 x 8M / 65 MT) – by sea
- 120 over-dimensional accessories, up to 5M wide – by road
